Emma Sanderson

Cultural experience: Emma seeks to be continually informed about the meaning and implications of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, particularly in her therapy work. She is committed to the principles of protection, participation and partnership with Māori, the indigenous people of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Specialist areas: Emma is an Accredited EMDR Therapist and predominantly works with survivors of Trauma. She also is trained in G-Tep and provides EMDR Group Therapy (SVS) for survivors of sexual violence. 

Qualifications and style of therapy: Emma holds a PGDipHealSc (Mental Health),PGCert Professional Supervision, PGCertHealSc (Family & Systems Therapies),Dip Arts Psychology, Dip Child & Ado Guidance Counselling. She has recently completed the 3 Year Transactional Analysis ( TA) Psychotherapy Training with (WTAI).

How long you have been practicing: Having worked in the social services field for over 28 years, Emma first qualified as a Counsellor in 1999.

Josie Wulf

Cultural experience: I was brought up in inner city Auckland,where at the time, it was a diverse mix of cultures. My father who I am named after, came from Samoa and my mother from the King country. I am the middle child of 7. I went on to have 7 children myself, 2 being step children. This has kept my life very busy and at times chaotic but these experiences have shaped me and my practice and ever grateful for my family’s support, challenge and love.

I began professional life in Youth and Community work. By the late 80s I was working in the tertiary sector, teaching Community Studies modules and Women’s courses at UNITEC. And  later taking up the lead role in Women’s Studies. I have worked for many years in various NFP community organisations as Educator, Advocate and Manager.

Further studies in Maoritanga.

Cultural experience:  Working with people across the whole wellbeing spectrum. She is currently in training to offer Animal Assisted Psychotherapy together with her standard wirehaired dachshund, Odinn.

Specialist areas: treating trauma and dissociative presentations

Qualifications and style of therapy: Trained in a variety of body-based/ somatic therapies, including dance/movement therapy and sensorimotor psychotherapy, she tends to adjust her style to fit her clients best, often collaborating with other allied health professionals such as nutritionists and acupuncturists.
